Besides facilities to collect traditional experimental data and eye-tracking data, CHIL is equipped with a research workspace. This workspace includes:

• Two PowerMacintosh G5 workstations, one with 23" Cinema Display, one with 21" Studio Display.

• One PowerMacintosh G5 with dual 17" flat screen displays, scanner, and Sony Media Converter for digitizing analog video sources.

• One eMac.

• One PowerMacintosh G4 running OS 10.3 Server for file and Web services and Retrospect for backup to tape, on a universal power supply for reliability.

• An AirPort base station to enable wireless laptop connections.

• An HP4050N laser printer

• An HP color inkjet printer.

• One digital video camera with FireWire connection.

• Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and iMovie2 video-editing software, Media Cleaner Pro video/audio compression software, and Photoshop and Illustrator image-editing software.

• Multiple CD & DVD burners for archiving data.

• Desk and bookshelf space, a whiteboard, a Mimio system for recording whiteboard drawings, and bulletin boards.

• A microwave
