You can control who gets to see a portion of a web site by using OS X Server's WebDAV feature. An access-controlled portion of a website is termed a realm.

How to make a new WebDAV realm in Mac OS 10.3 Server
  1. Make certain the files you want to be access-controlled within the website have the appropriate permissions.
  2. Launch Server Admin.
  3. Select the appropriate server.
  4. Select Web.
  5. Click sites. Select the appropriate site and edit it (by double-clicking on it or single-click and then clicking the pencil (edit site) button below the sites list).
  6. Click "Realms".
  7. To make a new realm (portion of a website accessible only to users with accounts on the server), click the plus button located below the list of realms. Type in a name for the realm. Leave the authorization set to "basic". Type the path to the section of the web site you wish to be access-controlled, or else click the ellipses button to navigate to that folder. Click "OK" when you are done.
  8. To configure who can access the access-controlled portion of the web site, click the "Users & Groups" button on the lower-right of the Server Admin window. Click and drag users and groups from the list to the Users and Groups panes of the Realms tab of the Server Admin window.
