ACT‑R Attentional Gate Model

An ACT-R Timing Module Based on the Attentional Gate Model

Overview

The ability to estimate the passage of time is clearly critical to many human tasks. Because some tasks which interest the ACT-R community require this capability, it is thus important that ACT-R be able to model this capability. While a temporal module for ACT-R 6.0 already exists, it has some important limitations, or perhaps possible limitations.

Thus, here is a new ACT-R temporal module based on the Attentional Gate Model of Block and Zakay (Block & Zakay, 1996; Zakay & Block, 1997).
